What to Look For in a Good Employer
- Written contract before travel — always, no exceptions
- Clear pay structure — gross rate, overtime policy, tax handling
- Accommodation included or allowance paid — confirm in writing
- Certificate reimbursement — good employers cover your EN 287 testing
- Proper PPE provided — helmet, gloves, safety boots on site
Red Flags — Agencies to Avoid
- No written contract or contract only on arrival
- Vague answers about the actual rate or deductions
- Asking you to pay a fee to “secure” the job
- No information about the end client or work location
- Promises that sound too good — unusually high rates with zero requirements
- No contact address or physical office
- Pressure to decide immediately
